Character Statements

Statements as to Character

Character Statements must be made on the prescribed editable form using the precise wording provided.  The statements must be signed in the presence of a witness who is aged over 18 years.

Please ensure you use the correct form:

  1. Applicant never previously admitted with disclosure statement
  2. Applicant never previously admitted without disclosure statement

A person who supplies a Character Statement need not be aware of any capacity disclosure.

You must provide two statements as to your character, made by persons who:

i) have known you for at least 2 years; and

ii) are not related to you by blood, marriage or as a domestic partner

Temporary changes have been made to allow for character statements to be witnessed remotely to maintain physical distancing to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Statements can be electronically signed and do not require any additional attestation as they are not statutory declarations.   However, they are required to be witnessed either in person or by audio-link with identification document, if required.

Please save the editable form and have the statement signed/witnessed and uploaded to your application for assessment.
